About our Singers
Founded in 1970 as a small group of singers who shared a common passion for exploring the rich repertoire of choral music, the group has grown steadily, both artistically and organizationally. We now have about 50 members, diverse in several ways, but united through a passion for great choral music. Singers range from students to retirees. Many members are music professionals or have studied voice, but many others simply sing for fun. Joy and laughter permeate our rehearsals. Members hone their craft, and out of dedication to choral performance, offer operational and financial support to the organization.
Auditions take place in August. Please check back in July for audition information and a signup form.

Sanders Distinguished Service Award
At our 50th Anniversary Gala on September 26, 2019, Music Director Gerry Sousa announced the first annual Sanders Distinguished Service Award. Ruth Sanders is the first recipient of the award.
Ruth served on the BCS Board as Treasurer for over 20 years. She set standards for budget management and is responsible for the Bloomington Chamber Singers organization growing and prospering. We commend Ruth for her many years of service, her guidance as well as her generous spirit. Congratulations Ruth!
